Subtasks and Triggered Tasks

Our Tasks system in Plannr has been recently updated! More general information about Tasks is available here.

In Plannr, Tasks can have Subtasks and Triggered Tasks.

Sub Tasks

In Plannr, a Subtask is a task within a task.

You can see if a task has any subtasks from the My Tasks page via the icon on each task (highlighted below).

If you can see a number next to this icon, it means there are subtasks against it. If you click on this, you'll see the subtasks appear below.

To create a subtask, navigate to the task you wish to add the subtask to. Here, you'll see a section titled Subtasks. Select the + icon here.

This brings up the following modal with the option to either add a new subtask or add an existing subtask.

Adding a New Subtask

If you go to add a new subtask, you'll see the fields appear as they do when adding a regular task. More information on this can be found here.

Adding an Existing Subtask

If you go to add an existing subtask, you will see a box appear. Here you can search for any existing tasks and move them to be a subtask of the task you are currently in.

Triggered Tasks

A Triggered Task is one that is created once another task has been completed. These can only be set up via a Workflow. More information on Workflows is available here.

You can also set up subtasks via Workflows if you wish!

Select the Settings tab from the menu on the left hand side.

Click on Workflows

Here you will see all current workflows. Select one to add the Triggered Task to.

Once you're in your chosen workflow, select Add Triggered Task on the desired task.

Input the task details as you would any other task.

Hit Save when you're happy with the task details.

Now the Triggered Task is created!

Creating a Subtask via Workflows is exactly the same process.
