Types of Client
In this article, we'll go over the different types of Client you can create and why they're useful.
In Plannr, while you can create regular clients, you also have the option to create Prospects.
Clients are established customers of your company, e.g. paying customers with whom you likely have dealt with before.
Prospects are potential customers that are at the enquiry stage, e.g. customers you will not have worked with before.
If you ever need to change a prospect to a client, or vice versa, this can be done easily on the client page via the actions tab.
While Individual clients are the default in Plannr, you can also create Joint, Business and Trust clients.
Joint clients could typically be a married couple or partnership.
Business clients typically represent a company and can have many individuals assigned as owners of the business.
Trust clients are the details of a trust and the individuals related to it.
You can quickly and easily switch between the different client records associated with the client you are currently viewing.
Going to the breadcrumbs bar along the top, select the dropdown arrow to bring up all the client record linked to this individual.
Clicking on Joint Client under client type and the modal will change to show a new section.
Here you first add a name for the joint client, and then select either existing individual clients or create new clients to make up the joint client.
After this, you continue to fill in the new client details as usual.
Click on Trust under client type and the modal will change to show a new section. This is where we will add the people involved in this trust account.
First, enter a name for the trust and then enter the first client information either by using an existing client or creating a new one.
To add another client, click the add new client button. The page will update to show a new section where you can enter your client. You can add up to six clients.
Once this is done, you continue to fill in the new client details as usual.
Click on Business under Client type and the modal will change to show a new section. This is where we will add the people employed by this business.
First, enter a name for the business. After this, enter the first client information either by using an existing client or creating a new one.
To add another client, click the add new client button. The page will update to show a new section where you can enter your client. You can add up to six clients.
Business Clients can have Staff Members. Further information on this is available here.
